When I was about 5 years old, my father gave me a hardback copy of A Field Guide to the Birds of Australia. Two years later as a wee seven year old in the outback of Australia, I was hooked and I’ve been watching birds ever since.
When I moved to the country three years ago, I lost my original Pizzey book and had to start all over. I decided I’d start collating a list of all the birds i’ve seen, recorded in my pizzey and on my iPhone in the remarkable Morcombe eguide. I’m slowing building my list over at eremaea.com, a useful online database that helps map and records yr sightings.
